Limitations of other instruments?  Horns only play single notes.  Mallet 
instruments like vibraphone have a limited attack envelope.  Banjos 
don't sustain very well and have to use motion of notes as an illusion. 
 Accordions are on or off.  Pianos have issues around attack and chord 
voicings.  Guitars have a theoretical note set that isn't really 
achievable because of intonation issues.  Flutes are limited in range 
and they're stuck in a higher register.  I think one of the biggest 
issues with harmonica is they aren't very legato.  fjm
